Jurors’ Statement:
It was a pleasure to jury the works of art to be included in this exhibit!
With careful consideration we reviewed and ultimately chose works that represent a variety of artistic styles and messages. With attention to elements such as the use of the pastel medium, artistic expression, composition and values, we selected 34 pastel paintings that we feel represented these guidelines. Using this criteria, the selection was completed with as much objectivity as possible and thus creating a diverse and interesting exhibit.
It was a such an enjoyable time spent reviewing all the works of so many talented artists. As with any juried show, there are space limitations that force the jurors to choose a specific number of works and with that in mind, we chose what we felt was a good representation of the work entered.
Please enjoy our selections!
