As a student at the University of California at Berkeley working a on a degree in Art, I was very fortunate to have studied painting, drawing and printmaking with Earle Loran, Elmer Bischoff, Hassel Smith, George Miyasaki, Boyd Allen and Karl Kasten. After college, I worked as an art director, graphic designer and print buyer in San Francisco and Marin.
I am now focusing primarily on fine arts using watercolor, acylic and printmaking to produce works on paper and canvas. My first love is to study and render plant forms. These subjects hold endless color and design to stimulate creation. After many years as mainly a studio artist, a new interest this year has been painting out of doors with watercolor mainly in the Point Reyes area. The challenges of organizing the landscape's compositon in this beautiful area, coping whith the changing light and completing a painting are making this a new stimulating opportunity. I hope you will be able to visit my studio to see this new and continuing series; originals and archival prints.
