The 100% Recycled Tour - Michael McGee

The 100% Recycled Tour

Artwork by Michael McGee
Presented by Marin Interfaith Street Chaplaincy

July 11-August 2, 2014
Reception: July 11 • 5–8pm

Michael McGee is a 48 year old artist, born in Bakersfield and a Bay Area resident for nearly 25 years. Proficient in many media, he is fond of ballpoint pens. He uses some unusual shading techniques and sometimes vibrant colors overlayed to create intense works of art, tending toward the strange and somewhat dark subject matter.

Michael is a hungry participant in the competitive field of the arts. He is skilled in airbrush, watercolors, acrylics, sculpture and other formats, and has brought many creations to life over the years. He is often commissioned to draw portraits and other pieces for customers as his works are versatile enough to please most any taste in quality handmade arts.

Michael has created several album covers, murals, and is currently illustrating and writing a children's book. He has donated works to the Heart to Heart Foundation and the Marin Interfaith Street Chaplaincy, the sponsor of this show.

The Marin Interfaith Street Chaplaincy provides spiritual and emotional support for people who live outside or in transition in Marin County. As a part of its mission, the Street Chaplaincy helps to encourage and create opportunities for folks to share their art. Michael has been a participant with the Street Chaplaincy for over 10 years, creating his art with the community and teaching other artists.
