The complementary work in this exhibit explores the duality of both land
in the work of plein air painter and Art Works Downtown Studio Artist,  Davis Perkins
and form – in the sculptural figurative work of award winning bronze sculptor,  Aiko Morioka.


Davis Perkins California landscape painter, career smokejumper and firefighter/paramedic, graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts. He has paintings in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian Institution, U.S. Air Force Art Collection (Pentagon), National Park Foundation, and the Alaskan State Museum. Davis's work was selected for the 2010 and 2011 Oil Painters of America, National Juried Exhibition. Perkins is represented by Robert Allen Fine Art in Sausalito, and has exhibited in Marin/Scapes, Marin Agricultural Land Trust, and the Telluride and Aspen Plein Air Festivals.

Aiko Morioka is an award winning, internationally recognized bronze sculptor whose work is defined by graceful lines and a meditative quality. Nature, the human form and themes based in ancient wisdom are a recurring inspiration and presence in her sculptures.Morioka is a grand prize winner for sculpture in national juried contests.  She is broadly published and her work has been featured on the cover of several national magazines.  Morioka's studio at the ICB building in Sausalito welcomes visitors.
